Why we index our frames
At Frame Society, we believe in full transparency when it comes to the items we offer. Since many of our pieces are pre-loved or sourced as new old stock, condition can vary - and we want you to feel completely confident before making a purchase. That's why we use a standardized Condition Index, grading every item on a scale from 1 to 10.
Each grade is based on a careful visual assessment of the item's overall appearance, wear, and any irregularities present.
This system helps us stay consistent and honest in how we present our inventory, while giving you - the buyer - a clear and reliable reference point so you know exactly what to expect when your item arrives.
The current index is based on these four states:
1–3 — Pre-loved but needs work
4–6 — Pre-loved with irregularities
7–9 — Looks like new with small irregularities
10 — New / NOS (New Old Stock)
